Each dry ski
slope will vary in its profile with variations in gradient
from top to bottom. PERMA-SNOW is a flexible skiing
surface that will follow any contour and each slope
needs to be designed to meet the demand of the skiing
criteria desired. A PERMA-SNOW surface is suitable
for beginners through to advanced skiers. Even 'extreme
skiers' will find a buzz skiing on PERMA-SNOW when
laid on extreme contours. Falling should not cause cuts
or grazing other than possibly superficial bruising with
some minor wheals from a heavy impact with the surface
through tumbling and sliding. The looped surface and the
cushioned underlay will absorb almost all impacts in a
fall.
If required the Techmat 2000 Limited design service
will produce a surface layout proposal based on the
contours of any slope planned or existing. A layout
proposal will identify a variety of suitable PERMA-SNOW
carpet surfaces to suit the differences in the angle
of fall of a dry ski slope profile. Alternatively, Techmat
2000 Limited can propose the most suitable product to
provide a fully carpeted surface of one looped pile
type.
PERMA-SNOW surfaces are also suitable for ski
jumping. Techmat 2000 Limited can manufacture to order a launching
surface or a landing and stopping surface. Enquiries

On the main slope, steep sections will generally use a longer
pile carpet while shallow sections will use a shorter
pile carpet with variable pile carpeting laid at the bottom
to provide a safe stopping zone. This method of covering
a slope will provide a constant skiing piste avoiding
overly slow or fast sections.
On the intermediate slope, our 18/12 mixed pile
height will be recommended as a suitable ski carpet
for tuition and general skiing. This surface is designed
to provide a teaching medium as well as a progression
medium for advancing beginners. It is also the ideal
surface for tuning up after a long lay-off or for relaxed
skiing to refine technique.
On the novice slope, our longest pile height
will be recommended. This can be the standard 20mm or
the multi-lay 20mm ski carpet. Either one will be ideal
for teaching a raw beginner the fundamentals before
progressing to the intermediate slope. This surface
is ideal for a novice skier under tuition who wants
to improve technique or practice the snowplough turn
in between progression lessons. This is the slowest of the surfaces and provides comfort to the mind as well as to the body in the event of falling. The longer looped pile provides a more cushioned surface.
On extreme slopes, the PERMA-SNOW skiing
carpet will contour to any rounded form providing a
safe surface for the more adventurous skier or boarder
to enjoy.
