PERMA-SNOW™ Features

PERMA-SNOW™ is a product that does not need to rely on a misting system in dry conditions for quality skiing although the gliding efficiency of the surface may be improved by moisture. The PBT monofilament loop design effectively provides minimal contact with the ski thereby reducing friction between the base of the ski and the skiing surface. There is minimal heat build-up in the ski base as PERMA-SNOW™ is an efficient and consistent skiing surface that minimises fast and slow patches.

The looped system is considered to have an 80 to 90% co-efficiency with real snow and has 'the real feeling'. In humid conditions, the retentive loops and backing material retains moisture thereby further improving the efficiency of the surface for skiers as the ski passes over the loops creating a water lubrication.

PERMA-SNOW™ provides a skiing surface that is the ultimate in dry ski slope surfaces. The design of the loop pile is ideal for straight running, carving, traversing and edge control. The secret is in the design of the loop; the PolyButylTeraphthallate (PBT) mono-filament is flat inside and rounded on the outside. This filament design allows the ski to edge with control while providing the minimal resistance to the ski when gliding or flat running. The pressure of the ski edge on the filament in a turn lays over and twists the loop exposing the flat to oval edge of the filament giving purchase to the ski whilst in a controlled turn, carving, or effecting a braking motion to come to a stop. This provides the ultimate control for a skier.
